Johanna Lisle Newbold, D.C.

Chiropractor

Dr. Johanna Lisle Newbold is a New England native, born and raised in Massachusetts. While working in Information Technology for a Cambridge based biotech firm Dr. Johanna had some health problems that left her unable to enjoy her favorite activities.  After several attempts and multiple approaches towards regaining her health, she tried Chiropractic.  The experience was so powerful that she decided to become a Doctor of Chiropractic.

Our Story

In 1985, Dr. David Linatsas founded Nashua Family Chiropractic after graduating from Life University in Atlanta, Georgia. Before he brought chiropractic care to Nashua, NH, Dr. Linatsas was a special education teacher for the city. When his practice opened in 1985, they provided chiropractic care and massage therapy to the community.

In 2010, Brandon Linatsas, David’s son, attended Life Chiropractic College West in the Bay Area of California. He graduated in 2013 with Clinical Honors and by 2015, Dr. Brandon (as his patients like to call him) was ecstatic to step into his life-long dream and join his father in practice. Dr. David Linatsas ran Nashua Family Chiropractic until 2016, at which time he sold it to Brandon.

During his studies at Life Chiropractic College West, Brandon saw one of the biggest downfalls in American Medicine: The practice of “Sick Care”, not “Health Care”. Essentially, the health systems in this country focused on making the sick feel better instead of prioritizing healthy living and the discovery of root causes. Dr. Brandon wanted to provide people with a different approach.

He came across the concept of a “Blue Zone” during his college studies and the idea hooked him. Blue Zones are communities around the world where populations live well beyond the age of 100, chronic illness is almost non-existent, and people live vibrant lives. Healthy living wasn’t a trend or fad for these communities, it was just a way of life. They ate from the earth, walked everywhere they went and had a sense of belonging to the collective group. Dr. Brandon was inspired by this and wanted to create New Hampshire’s first Blue Zone.

Nashua Family Chiropractic began offering acupuncture, massage therapy, nutritional counseling, and most recently, primary care. The business began hosting events like Chair Yoga for Seniors, Prenatal Yoga for new mothers, and even planted a community garden for staff members and patients to tend to and enjoy the fruits of. All of these initiatives aimed to bring the community together. Nashua Family Chiropractic has served over 11,000 members since 1985.

After six years at NFC, Dr. Brandon knew it was time to take the next step in creating a Blue Zone. The foundation for the community was strong and he was ready to begin the movement to “Health Care. Not Sick Care.” Thus, he started the rebranding process.

Enter Blue Zone Health.

Blue Zone Health aims to do better than the American health care standard and provide community members with the resources and tools they need to live vibrantly. As of May 21st, 2022, Nashua Family Chiropractic will become Blue Zone Health. This journey starts with a community and implementing practices of good health. Good health care should be happening all the time – beyond the facility and office and into everyday life. Here at BZH, you’re also provided the framework to live vibrantly together. We believe we’re on the precipice of something revolutionary.

Become a part of Blue Zone Health today. Whether it’s primary care for you and the whole family or participating in Chair Yoga, the path to health care is here. All you need to do is take the first step.

Beth Williams, FNP-C

Over 20 years ago, Beth began her career in the medical field as a combat medic in the United States Army. She went on to become a nurse and served in various roles around the country and world. She served on medical missions and on air evac teams in support of the Afghanistan and Iraq wars, but her roles in pediatrics have been among her favorites. She spent nearly a decade in pediatric med-surg, pediatric sedation and pediatric intensive care before she eventually went back to school and became a family nurse practitioner. She is especially passionate about functional medicine, health promotion education, disease prevention, and pediatric and women’s health.

Outside of the office, Beth is all about time with her family and has a big heart for all things volunteering. You may see her on sidelines coaching a game or offering medical coverage, volunteering on a local ambulance or even at a local school board meeting where she serves as an elected official.

Michelle Espinal, LMT

I was drawn to massage therapy through an interest in the mind-body connection. I believe that regular bodywork and relaxation therapy is the key to health and wellness. Focused on improving the quality of daily life, I use approaches that address a range of both acute and chronic problems. I aim to create a sense of balance and whole-body healing by building different modalities for each client. As I grow into my practice, I will continue to learn and expand my knowledge to benefit all.

Scott Bergendahl

Scott Bergendahl was born in Middlesex, NJ and moved up to Londonderry, NH at the age of 8. He attended Londonderry High School where he became very involved in the music department and became a student aid to the Director of Music. Upon graduating, he attended Gordon College studying Music Education with a concentration in pipe organ, giving him the opportunity to study with some very notable professionals in music. During his studies, Scott worked in a local music store as a senior salesman, assisting many families and professionals in selecting the correct instruments, equipment, and supplies for all of their musical needs.

He met his wife, AnnMarie, while learning how to ballroom dance. As time went on, they got married and started a family of their own. After the birth of his firstborn son, their midwife had suggested to take him to see Dr. Brandon to help correct some issues that this newborn baby was having. After being patients of Nashua Family Chiropractic for sometime, the clinic was hiring. Scott was so excited at the possible opportunity to be a part of such a wonderful team of people whose goal is to help others achieve a fuller expression of health.

Scott continues to play the pipe organ for various churches, as well as teaching ballroom as time and opportunity allow. In addition, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. In all aspects, he strives for excellence for not only himself, but also for whomever with which he interacts.
